The 3rd Annual Mar Vista Green Garden Showcase will be here faster than you think – should your garden be on the tour? You have one more week to decide. We need to have all the applications in by March 1st so that we can complete the maps by our newsletter publishing deadline. Check out the gardens on the tour so far here and read all the details in the attached press release. Check the map to see if there are other gardens near you.
Save The Date! April 14, 2011: MVCC Education Summit 2011
Mar Vista Park and Recreation Center Auditorium (MAP)
You are cordially invited to the Mar Vista Community Council's 2011 Education Summit, Thursday, April 14, 201 at the Mar Vista Recreation Center Auditorium.
Following last year's successful summit, the MVCC Education, Arts and Culture Committee is proud to once more bring together parents, teachers, students, elected officials and the community as a whole at the 2011 Education Summit to help improve our community's access to quality education for our kids.
The summit will feature two parts. First, Mar Vista area schools will be invited to showcase their schools, giving parents an opportunity to meet with school representatives under one roof. Second, a diverse panel of speakers including Steve Zimmer, LAUSD Board of Education member for District 4, will discuss education reform opportunities and challenges, and how parents and the community can get involved.
