Whats Going On At Mar Vista Green Committee ???

1. Please join us tomorrow night to hear the LA Business Council presentation on their proposed feed in tariff program T&I committee with answers to the questions we posed when they presented to the Green Committee. The Green Committee has a motion to support their proposal with the LA City Council that will go before the board on September 10th. The presentation will be the first item on the agenda at the meeting below and should take about an hour.

TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit that unites the power of trees, people and technology to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles. Simply put, their work is about helping nature heal our cities. We are excited to have them participate at the MVCC Green Committee’s booth and discuss their programs with our community. They will have their acclaimed “Watershed in a Suitcase” on hand to illustrate the role that trees play in harvesting rainwater in our urban watershed.

Stop by to learn about the experiences you can have with them as well.Have you been up to their park and enjoyed the trails? It is a great afternoon of easy hikes with the kids. Did you know that they have an amphitheater with summer programs?

3. Have you heard about the Mar Vista Fall Festival? this years theme is Healthy Living. If your business or organizations has exercise, nutrition, conditioning, sports competition or another element of healthy living as their mission you should consider taking a booth! It is a GREAT way to promote your business to the community and a fun day. They are also seeking items from local artisans and businesses for a silent auction.
