MAR VISTA COMMUNITY COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICES:

Free H1N1 Vaccinations at the Mar Vista Farmers Market (Newly added service/event) No appointment necessary. First come, first served. Open to everyone except those with contraindications to the vaccine (such as severe egg allergy or history of Guillain Barre Syndrome). This free H1N1 vaccine clinic by the LA County Health Department is hosted by the Mar Vista Community Council. Stop by our community outreach booth Sunday Jan. 24th and 31st to get the latest local news. (www.flueshotla.com)

New MVCC Web Site Launching Soon


The MVCC is very pleased to announce that the new official website will be launched to our stakeholders and the public this coming week. Once this launch is activated, the official MVCC domain name for its website, www.marvista.org, will automatically take the public to the new site. As part of this launch, current email lists from our existing Email Notification System will be moved over to the new site. Once that has taken place, an email will be sent out to those on these lists asking them to go to the new site and register as a user of the new ENS system.

MVCC Board of Director Elections

The City of Los Angeles Elections Division, in conjunction with the Mar Vista Community Council, will hold elections for all 13 seats on the MVCC Board of Directors on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Candidate Filing Period will commence on Monday January 11, 2010 and close on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. The seats to be elected are: One (1) Community Director; Six (6) At-Large Directors; and Six (6) Zone Directors. Please email info@marvista.org for additional information or visit www.marvista.org.

imagination is a funny thing in this musical adventure of a pig called Pearl and a bone called Bone. Based on the Caldecott Honor book by William Steig, author of Shrek and other popular children’s books. This musical best enjoyed by ages 4 to 104. Presented by Santa Monica’s award-winning Morgan-Wixson Theatre, selected as ‘Outstanding New Children’s Theatre Company’ by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
